Thickness and width
Thickness is commonly expressed in micrometres (μm); width describes the film width on the roll. Both help identify a product, but neither is a complete performance specification.
Length and roll configuration
Confirm the supplied roll length, core dimensions and carton or pallet configuration. These affect compatibility, handling and how a purchase is compared.
Elongation and test conditions
Ask how an elongation value was measured and what it means for the intended application. Do not assume that a stated percentage is an instruction to use the same pre-stretch setting on every machine.
Net film, core and gross weight
Net film weight excludes the cardboard core. Gross roll weight includes it. Ask for separate values; a quoted price per kilogram cannot be compared fairly if different weight bases are used.
Document your requirements
Request the factory-issued technical sheet and its revision date. Include colour, dimensional tolerances and any application-specific requirements in the quotation discussion.
